CBI ARRESTS AN INSPECTOR AND A CONSTABLE OF RPF IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Inspector and a Constable, both working in Railway Protection Force at Nagbhid Railway Station, Chandrapur in a bribery case.

A case was registered against an Inspector, RPF and a Constable, both working in RPF, Nagbhid Railway Station, Chandrapur U/s 7 of PC Act 1988 and Section 120-B of IPC on the allegations of demanding illegal gratification of Rs.8,000/- from the complainant for releasing his seized articles. It was also alleged that the accused persons had earlier taken Rs.2500/- as bribe from the accused and demanded the balance amount of Rs.5500/- for releasing the seized materials. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.5500/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the residence of both the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
The arrested accused were produced today before the Special Judge, Chandrapur and remanded to Police Custody till 09.01.2017.
