Cbi Conducts Searches In An On-Going Investigation Of A Case Relating To Alleged Murder Of Dr.Narendra Dabholkar

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today conducted searches at Pune and Panvel, both in Maharashtra in the premises of two private persons in an on-going investigation of a case related to the alleged murder of Dr.Narendra Dabholkar, resident of Pune.


CBI had registered a case on 09.05.2014 on the orders of Bombay High Court dated 09.05.2014, in Criminal Public Interest Litigation and took up the investigation of the case which was initially registered at Deccan Police Station, Pune regarding killing of Dr. Narendra DabholkarIt was alleged that in the morning at about 7.20 hrs., two un-identified persons aged about 25 to 30 years, of medium height had fired bullets and killed Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, while he was on footpath of Omkareshwar Bridge behind Balgandharv Rangmandir, Pune City.The two assassins fled on a two- wheeler/motorcycle.

Certain documents and mobile numbers, E-mails etc. recovered during searches, are being scrutinised. A Red Corner Notice had been issued by the Interpol against one private person(An absconder) in Goa Blast Case of 2009.

Further investigation is continuing.
