CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST TWO OFFICIALS OF UNITED INDIA INSURANCE COMPANY LTD. AND OTHERS FOR CAUSING AN ALLEGED LOSS OF Rs 3.25 CRORE
The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case U/s 120-B r/w 420, 468 and 477A of IPC and Sec.13(2) r/w. Sec.13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against two officials of United India Insurance Company Limited, Latur; Eight Private Persons (Motor Vehicle Owners) and unknown others on the allegations of causing loss to the tune of Rs.3.25 crores (approx.) during the period 2009-2014. The accused had fraudulently issued alleged Insurance Cover Notes against Sixteen Vehicles after the said vehicles had actually met with accidents and thereby defrauded the Insurance Company on the basis of fake & forged documents.
Searches have been conducted at the office & residential premises of accused persons at 13 places in the Districts of Latur, Jalgaon, Akola, Parbhani, Osmanabad & Pune (Maharashtra) which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
