Central Government Earned 254 Crores From Junk Cleaning During Diwali; Cleanliness Drive Lasted For Three Weeks

New Delhi, 26th October 2022: On the occassion of Diwali, the central government has received an amount of Rs 254 crore from the garbage collected during the cleaning of Diwali. This amount has been received from the sale of junk that came out of the offices attached to the central government departments.

 

On Tuesday (October 25), Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that this cleanliness drive lasted for three weeks before Diwali. The junk that came out of it was sold, in which an amount of more than two hundred and fifty crores was found.

 

For the same, 37 lakh square feet of land was made vacant. All the junk was kept on this land. This land will now be used for some other purposes.

 

Since the beginning of the second round of the cleanliness campaign, the departments of the central government were engaged in the campaign of cleanliness. The minister informed that all the departments are running cleanliness drive till October 31.
Under this, unused files and other materials are being sold.

 

He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the cleanliness campaign in the country has taken the form of a mass movement.

 

Singh added a total of 40 lakh files were reviewed. More than 3 lakh complaints have been resolved. Apart from this, 588 rules were relaxed. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm in all the ministries regarding the cleanliness drive.
