Central Railway records highest number of employees downloading ‘Aarogya Setu’ Mobile App

Pune, 28 April 2020 – The Aarogya Setu mobile app, launched by the government of India to check spread of Covid-19, has helped the staff of Central Railway engaged in emergency services to maintain social distancing.

“Rail Parivar Dekh-Rekh Muhim” which was launched by Central Railway to contact every employee and map location wise so that in case of emergency, help can reach them quickly. The main idea is to be in regular contact with all the railway employees of Central Railway, keeping a record of their health status (including their family members), providing adequate support during the lockdown period.

Over Central Railway more than 95% of its officials and staff have already downloaded the app., which is highest amongst all Zones in Indian Railways. About ninety-five thousands of employees of Central Railway have downloaded the Aarogya Setu Mobile app that includes more than sixteen thousands of Headquarters Office, more than thirty thousand of Mumbai Division, more than fourteen thousands of Nagpur Division, more than fifteen thousands of Bhusaval Division and more than nine thousands each of Pune and Solapur divisions.

Railways taking utmost care of its employees encouraged & motivated the staff, officers’, pensioners and their families to download this most effective mobile app to combat Covid-19.

The motive behind the downloading of the Aarogya Setu app is that everyone’s phones will be constantly communicating with each other and thus contain the spread of the coronavirus. Aarogya Setu app will be tracking your vicinity as long as you are sharing your location. This app directly alerts you with a notification if you come, even unknowingly near to an infected person.

Central Railway is operating its essential services like freight and parcel trains to cater to our Nation’s needs. Several staff and officers are working to operate this most essential services in control, operating & commercial offices, guards, loco pilots, station masters, yard masters, other allied various maintenance department, which functions round the clock. In the process of their duty as they happen to meet several staff and individuals, this app as a contact tracing solution to arrest the spread of coronavirus, break the chain of infection. As more and more people download the app, the risk factor of coming in touch with Covid-19 patients reduces, helping in the containment of coronavirus infection.
