Kanpur, 15th July 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is preparing to strengthen the country in the technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The plan is to have the centre ready by the end of the current year.

Here, according to the needs of the administration, police, army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and health department, as well as private companies, small to big drones will be made.

To realize the dream of Make in India, IITs will join hands with industrial institutions and start-ups in drone manufacturing. Considering the current environment and need, it is expected to get approval soon.

Complete set up of drone technology will be made

At present, for the necessary equipment for drone manufacturing, companies have to depend on America, Australia and European countries. These include a variety of sensors, batteries, cameras and engine parts. Due to expensive equipment from European countries, it is a compulsion to buy equipment from China, Taiwan and Israel. A complete set-up will be prepared in the center to improve drone technology, so that all the goods can be provided in the country itself. The companies associated with the center will not only provide equipment, but will also provide employment opportunities to the youth.

Students of other technical institutions including schools, colleges will also be able to get information about drone technology. They will be able to share their drone or its idea with the officials of the institute, which will enhance their intelligence. Students will also be able to start-up.
