CET Cell Launches Help Centres in Every District to Support Admission Process
Pune, 27th July 2025: In a move aimed at streamlining the admission process for professional courses across Maharashtra, the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has set up dedicated student help centres in all 36 districts of the state. Each centre, housed within a local college, will serve as a go-to resource for students and parents navigating the complexities of centralised admissions.
The initiative has been welcomed by parents and educators alike, who say the centres offer much-needed clarity during an often stressful period.
“Even though course brochures are available online, many questions remain unanswered,” said a parent whose child is applying for an undergraduate engineering program. “College admission plays a major role in a student’s academic and personal development. Getting the right information at the right time is critical to avoid costly mistakes.”
Speaking to the media, Dileep Sardesai, Commissioner of the CET Cell, said the help centres began functioning this week. “Previously, colleges had student facilitation centres, but this is the first time we are introducing dedicated help centres with a broader scope,” he explained.
“These centres will serve as local support hubs for students facing difficulties during the admission process. If an issue cannot be resolved at the district level, it will be escalated directly to the CET Cell for intervention,” Sardesai added.
The help centres aim to assist students and parents who may struggle with digital applications, and also to ease the stress that often accompanies decision-making around course and college selection.
“The objective is not just to offer technical support, but also to provide emotional reassurance and personalized guidance,” Sardesai noted. “We want families to feel supported throughout the admission journey.”
Officials hope that the district-wide rollout will bring consistency and transparency to the state’s centralised admission process and prevent misinformation or procedural errors.
