Pune, 2nd January 2025: Simple Chapati and Bhakari, which are traditional staple foods, will now become more expensive for Punekars as Flour Mills in Pune have decided to increase the rates of flour grinding per kilogram. The decision was taken by the Pune District Flour Mills Association during a recent meeting.
At the meeting, various factors were discussed, including inflation, making the business financially viable, and other related issues. The increasing electricity rates were also a topic of discussion. The proposal was unanimously accepted by the attendees.
The new rates have been set as follows:
-Grinding of cereal grains: Increased to Rs 8 per kg
-Grinding of pulses: Increased to Rs 10 per kg
The Chairman of the Flour Mills Association, Dilip Ranaware, announced this decision, stating that it was taken into consideration of the increased rates of grinding machine spare parts and electricity costs.
