Chartered Accountants Are Architects of India’s Economy: Hanmantrao Gaikwad

Pune, 16th June 2025: “Chartered Accountants (CAs) are not just tax advisors but the real architects of India’s economic growth. Their role as policy consultants, researchers, and creators of financial trust is irreplaceable,” said Hanmantrao Gaikwad, Founder and Managing Director of Bharat Vikas Group (BVG), while inaugurating Navonmesh 2025, a two-day sub-regional conference of chartered accountants organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Gaikwad, speaking at the event jointly organized by ICAI’s Western India Regional Council (WIRC), Pune branch, and Pimpri-Chinchwad branch, elaborated on the BVG success story and emphasized the importance of sacrifice and dedication in building institutions of repute.
Held at Siddhi Banquet near Mhatre Bridge, the event was presided over by WIRC Chairman CA Ketan Saiya, Vice Chairman CA Piyush Chandak, Treasurer CA Fenil Shah, Regional Council Members CA Rekha Dhamankar, CA Rajesh Agrawal, CA Abhishek Dhamane, CA Vijendra Jain, CA Rakesh Shah, Pune Branch Chairman CA Sachin Miniyar, and Pimpri-Chinchwad Chairman CA Vaibhav Modi, among others.
Other dignitaries and office bearers including CA Pranav Apte (Vice Chairman, Pune Branch), CA Nilesh Yewalekar (Secretary), CA Neha Phadke (Treasurer), CA Pragya Bamb (VICASA Chairperson), CA Rishikesh Badwe, CA Pritesh Munot, CA Nandkumar Kadam, CA Sarika Dindokar, CA Sarika Chordia (Vice Chairperson, Pimpri-Chinchwad), CA Manoj Malpani (Secretary), CA Mahavir Kothari (Treasurer), CA Dheeraj Baldota (VICASA Chairperson, Pimpri-Chinchwad), CA Sachin Dherange, and CA Shailesh Bore played a key role in organizing the event.
In a special video message, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule extended his best wishes to the CA community. The conference featured expert sessions on a wide range of topics including tax reforms, financial readiness, auditing frameworks, artificial intelligence, evolving responsibilities from statutory to forensic audits, branding for professionals, automation in the CA domain, key GST judgments, IPO preparedness and future of capital markets, and startup financing essentials for 2025.
Gaikwad stated, “CAs play a pivotal role in instilling transparency, fiscal discipline, and a culture of sustainable growth. Their micro-level planning enables businesses to navigate toward profitability and expansion. As AI-driven changes transform financial systems, CAs must continually upgrade themselves to stay relevant.”
Highlighting his journey, Gaikwad recalled how BVG began with a small housekeeping team of eight people and has now expanded to serve prestigious institutions like Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament, Supreme Court, Prime Minister’s Office, and several leading airports and temples. “Our services extend to farmers and citizens’ health initiatives. The spirit of service remains at the heart of all we do, which gives us true inner satisfaction,” he added.
WIRC Chairman CA Ketan Saiya emphasized, “Our profession strengthens the nation’s economy. Initiatives like Nyaayasetu, Bhagyodaya, Export Services, Chanakyaneeti, TechEdge, and Saptarshi are aimed at empowering CAs with platforms for growth and service. Conferences like this fuel intellectual expansion and open new avenues.”
The conference began with an elegant Ganesh Vandana performance by CA Gayatri Manohar, Antara Miniyar, and Mahi Joshi. CA Sachin Miniyar outlined the importance of the conference, and CA Vaibhav Modi delivered the welcome address. CA Neha Phadke and CA Dheeraj Baldota (Pimpri-Chinchwad VICASA Chairperson) coordinated the proceedings and offered the vote of thanks.
