Class 11 Admission 2026: First Merit List Released, Key Dates and Details Inside
Pune, 29th May 2026: The first regular merit list for Class 11 online admissions was released across Maharashtra on Friday, with junior colleges allotted to 5,74,945 students.
Students have been informed about their allotments through SMS and via their individual login accounts on the official admission portal. Those who have secured admission must complete the admission process by visiting their allotted colleges and confirming their seats before 6 pm on June 3, 2026.
A total of 21.98 lakh seats are available for Class 11 admissions across the state. Of the 14.20 lakh students who passed the Class 10 examination this year, 12.51 lakh registered for the admission process. In the first round, 8.87 lakh students submitted applications, of whom 5.74 lakh were allotted colleges based on their preferences and merit.
Mumbai division recorded the highest number of allotments, with 1.33 lakh students receiving seats, followed by Pune division with 1.09 lakh students. Stream-wise, Science attracted the highest number of students at 3.23 lakh, followed by Commerce with 1.26 lakh and Arts with 1.25 lakh students.
The allotments include 5.26 lakh students from the State Board and 35,971 students from the CBSE board.
Secondary Education Director Dr. Mahesh Palekar advised students not to rely solely on SMS notifications and to check their ‘CAP Allotment Status’ through their login accounts. He said students who have secured admission in one of their top 10 preferences must confirm their admission by paying the required fees before the deadline.
He further added that students who do not secure a seat in the first round can participate in the next round by reviewing cut-offs and updating Part II of their application forms online. Officials clarified that the entire admission process will be conducted online, and no offline admissions will be accepted.
