CM pays courtesy visit to renowned Gujarati writers Raghuveer Chaudhary and Tarak Mehta

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister of Gujarat Mrs. Anandiben Patel today paid courtesy visit to renowned Gujarati authors Mr. Raghuveer Chaudhary and Mr. Tarak Mehta at their residences and said that both stalwarts of Gujarati literature are the pride of Gujarat.

Mr. Raghuveer Chudhary, who was recently honoured with prestigious Jnanpith award, has penned more than 150 books in different literary forms of poem, novel, essay, play and criticism. His famous novels are Amrita and Uparvaas. He is the fourth gujarati writer who receives this prestigious award.

Mrs. Patel visited gujarati columnist, humorist, writer and playwright Mr. Tarak Mehta who is the best known for his popular column ‘Duniya ne Undha Chasma’ which was published in Chitralekha magazine for more than 40 years. Famous Hindi comedy serial ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chasma’ is based on this column. Mrs. Patel wished him long life. On the occasion, members of Mr. Mehta’s family gifted Gujarat CM his books. His journey in gujarati literature with more than 80 books resembles his contribution to Gujarat.
