Gujarat CM thanks PM-Union Minister for selecting Surat-Ahmedabad as winner of ‘Smart City Challenge’

Gandhinagar, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel today thanked on behalf of people of Gujarat to Central Government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Urban Development Minister Mr. Venkaiah Naidu for selecting Surat and Ahmedabad cities among 20 winner cities Smart City Challenge Competition.

Mrs. Patel delighted and conveyed her thanks to the Union Urban Development Minister while she came to know that Surat and Ahmedabad have been selected for developing smart cities in the current financial year and during upcoming 5 years Rs. 50802 crore will be allocated to such smart cities of the nation; out of them Surat and Ahmedabad will also get advantage.

It is worth to point out that the Union Minister has declared 20 cities as the winners in Smart City Challenge Competition. Surat has been selected as forth and Ahmedabad has been selected as sixth out of them.
