CME PUNE HOSTS PRESTIGIOUS CONVOCATION CEREMONY; JNU VICE CHANCELLOR URGES GRADUATES TO EMBRACE INNOVATION AND INTEGRITY

Dapodi, 5th June 2025: The College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, conducted its Convocation Ceremony with great solemnity and pride at Sarvatra Hall on 05 June 2025. A total of 35 officers were conferred degrees under the academic affiliation of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. This included 11 officers from the M.Tech (Structural Engineering) course and 24 officers from the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) course who received B.Tech degrees in Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice Chancellor, JNU, as the Chief Guest, who also delivered an inspiring valedictory address. In her remarks, Dr. Pandit lauded the graduating officers for their transformation into professional military engineers, emphasizing the vital convergence of technical competence, leadership, and resilience in today’s dynamic security environment. She highlighted the significance of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and 3D Printing, and urged the young officers to adopt them with ethical responsibility and a commitment to sustainability and self-reliance (Atmanirbharta).

Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, Sena Medal, Commandant, CME, encouraged the graduating officers to remain committed to professional excellence by staying attuned to ongoing innovations and challenges in the engineering domain. Brigadier Ravi Reddy, Officiating Deputy Commandant and Dean, CME, presented the Academic Report for Spring Term 2025.

During the ceremony, outstanding achievers were also recognized. Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Parmar was awarded the Gold Medal and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief ARTRAC Award for securing the top position in the M.Tech (Structural Engineering) course.

The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief ARTRAC Award for B.Tech (Civil Engineering) and B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) went to Lieutenant Priyansh Mishra and Lieutenant Anshuman Chaudhary of TES-43, respectively.

Student officers also showcased innovative project work addressing real-world challenges in civil and mechanical engineering, including applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and modern construction technologies.

The ceremony reflected CME’s enduring commitment to producing technically proficient and ethically grounded military engineers who will contribute to national defence and infrastructure with distinction.
