College girl raped on Hanuman Tekdi
Pune, February 26 – A 19-year-old college student was allegedly raped and robbed on the hill (Hanuman Tekdi) located behind Fergusson and Symbiosis colleges, on Wednesday evening. A 21-year-old youth has been arrested in the case.
The girl hails from West Bengal and studies in first year economics at a reputed college here. She lives as paying guest on Senapati Bapat road and attends the college from 8 am to 2 pm. Later in the evening she goes the college gym and from there walks upto the Pagoda on the hill and reads books until it gets dark.
The incident took place between 6.45 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, when a robber came from behind gagged and raped raped before fleeing with her purse containing Rs 60 and one ATM, mobile phone worth Rs 3,000 and a sack containing her shoes and headphone.
She lodged the complaint on Thursday night after discussing it with her family and friends.
On Friday police arrested Vijay Kamble (21), who has two robbery cases registered against him, was arrested for raping the girl.
