Colleges and schools to remain closed till 14 March in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation announced

Pimpri, February 28, 2021: To prevent the spread of coronavirus regular classes of all educational institutions, primary and secondary schools, colleges as well as all private tuition classes in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area will remain closed from 1 March 2021 to 14 March 2021, according to an order issued by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil.
The decision has been taken to control the spread of the virus in the city. The lockdown has been imposed from 11 pm to 6 am from March 1, 2021, except for essential services. However, suppliers of essential commodities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, newspapers and, essential services establishments and individuals as well as their vehicles along with industries that work in shifts are excluded from the order. Employees of the respective establishments and their vehicles are also excluded from the order. However, Commissioner Patil clarified that the earlier concessions given to medical services and essential services are still valid. Orders issued from time to time by the government as well as the Municipal Corporation under the Corona Prevention Measures and guidelines will be applicable until further notice.
If any person, organization, or association violates this order, appropriate legal action will be taken against them in accordance with the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Communicable Diseases Act, 1897 and other Government Acts and other rules in this regard. The order also states that it will be implemented immediately from February 28, 2021
