Colleges in Maharashtra to start from 20th October: Uday Samant

Pune, 13th October 2021: Higher Education Minister Uday Samant has announced to start all colleges in Maharashtra from October 20.

 

The proposal to start the college was sent to the Principal Secretary for Relief and Rehabilitation. The proposal was also sent to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. After that, it was approved, said Higher Education Minister Uday Samant.

 

50% of students can attend college. A special vaccination campaign will be organized for the students.

 

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)  had given permission to start the college from 13th October. However, Savitribai Phule Pune University had clarified that it would be implemented in phases only after receiving the order from the Department of Higher and Technical Education to start the colleges. Therefore, colleges in Pune will also be started.

 

Samant’s announcement has paved the way for colleges across the state to start after almost a year and a half.
