Pimpri, May 11, 2020: Migrant workers, tourists, students, pilgrims and others stranded in the state or district are allowed to enter or leave the district if they are not staying in containment zones. When they arrive in the city, they have to follow various government regulations. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued instructions to make them aware that in case of violation of the notices regarding house segregation, they will be subjected to institutional isolation for 14 days.

What is house segregation?
House segregation will be advised to the people who are travelling from one place to another during the lockdown. This means they will have to stay indoors for 14 days at minimum, and the Police department will take the necessary actions if they fail to do so.

What is institutional segregation?
Any individual commuting from one place to another, showing any symptoms of COVID 19 or travelling from red zones, will be isolated for 14 days at a facility approved by the government.

Besides, if such persons come to the city from the red zone area, they are being instructed by the PCMC to stay 14 days isolation (hospitalization for treatment) and passive isolation for the next 14 days (after going home after treatment). Violation of this rule will result in FIR being filed by the police.

For those coming to the city, the process will be as follows: After examining the people, medical practitioners will advise for institutional or home segregation, depending on the severity of the case. A seal will also be applied on the hand of the migrants.

Thermal guns for checking temperature and various tests can be carried out by police and health workers at the entry site. For travelling, a person has to submit a medical certificate, vehicle permit, duration of travel, and the number of people allowed in the vehicle. Following this, they will have to take permission from the local district collector where they are at present.

If it is found that the person has come without necessary travel permission, he/she will be isolated after an intensive vehicle inspection. Authorities will also find out that the people travelling from other states have come from a containment zone or red zone, and necessary precautions and actions will be taken against them.
