COMMANDER OF KENYAN ARMED FORCES VISITS SOUTHERN COMMAND

Pune, November 22,2019: Lieutenant General Walter Raria Koipaton, Commander of Kenyan Armed Forces along with the Kenyan Army delegation visited the Southern Command and various military establishments from 20 November to 22 November 2019. The Kenyan Armed Forces Commander interacted with Lieutenant General SK Saini, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command on 22 November 2019 during his visit to Headquarters Southern Command. The officers exchanged views on various military issues and shared best practices being followed by both the Armies.

The Commander of the Kenyan Army also visited College of Military Engineering and National Defence Academy in Pune, Armoured Corps Centre and School and Mechanised Infantry Regimental Centre at Ahmednagar and Platoon Commander Wing and Commando Wing at Belgaum to gain first hand experience on the methodology of training being imparted at these premier institutes. The General Officer also relived his memories during the visit to Armoured Corps Centre and School where he had done the Combat Group Commanders Course in 2005. The officer complimented the highest standards of training being

imparted to the troops at these training institutes. He also expressed confidence on the growing positive interaction between the two Armies which will go a long way in enhancing cooperation between both the Countries.
