Kothrud, September 10, 2020: Showing the true power of the uniform, Pune police and municipal corporation employees fined the sitting Congress MLC Amarnath Anantrao Rajurkar for not wearing a mask.

Visibly, upset the MLC threatened the employees but they did not deter from their duty. The MLC along with his four friends was travelling in a high-end car (MH 26 5999) without wearing the mask. When the corporation and police intercepted them, they whizzed the car, but the employees followed and caught them.

They also fined him Rs 500 for not wearing the mask. Police were taking action at Shastrinagar chowk in Kothrud when this car passed them. When the police tried to stop the car, the driver sped up and went ahead. Police followed it and fined them.

Meanwhile, the Pune municipal corporation (PMC) along with the police has started discipline drive to ensure the safety and security of the residents. This action against the MLC was part of it”, said the police. So far action against has been taken over 20,000 people.

Meanwhile, the MLC said that they were following all the rules. “We were only three people in the car and all were having their masks. But the corporation employees spoke to us rudely. We have paid the fine so that things do not get escalated. I am going to complain about it to the assembly speaker,” said Rajurkar.
