Construction   workers should be registered to avail benefits of government schemes – Vikas Panvelkar

Construction workers should get registered under Building and other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board so that they can avail benefits of different government schemes, said Vikas Panvelkar, Deputy Commissioner of Labour. He was speaking at labour awareness program organized by CREDAI – Pune Metro in association with ‘ANULOM’ and Labour Department at Kalpataru Jade Residences, Baner. Over 350 construction workers were present for this awareness program.

d Mane, Regional Head, ANULOM, M.A. Mujawar, Labour Officer, Urmila Julka, General Manager, CREDAI – Pune Metro, Milind Talathi, Parag Patil, Labour welfare committee members, Samir Parkhi, Labour welfare officer, CREDAI Pune Metro, Neelkanth Sardesai, Sr. Vice President, Sanjay Chavan, Admin officer, Kalpataru Group graced the event with their presence.

Adding further Panvelkar said, If once the labourer is registered under BOCW Board at one site then he need not to get enrolled separately at any other site and Labourers require only few documents to get registered in BOCW, Like Age proof certificate, address proof, Adhaar Card, photocopy of bank account passbook and photos of the worker.

In last few months many labourers have availed maximum benefit from this scheme. CREDAI members will help their workers to get registered with this Board said, J.P. Shroff. He also said if labourers face any problem in getting the benefits then we are here to solve their problems.

On narrating the benefits of getting registered in BOCW Mujawar said, some major Education benefits are provided to the children of labourers along with Health and Marriage aids for the labourers themselves
