New Delhi, May 2, 2020: The central government has extended lockdown from May 4 for another 14 days till May 17. However, the government has relaxed some rules for green zones and orange zones, places where there are no or few Coronavirus positive cases.
Consumption of liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco etc. in public places is not allowed. Shops selling liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco etc. will ensure minimum six feet distance (2 gaz ki doon) from each other and also ensure that not more than 5 persons are present at one time at the shop.
With the nationwide lockdown being extended for another two weeks on Friday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the sale of liquor, paan, tobacco in all zones, including red zones, in standalone shops. Liquor shops will not be allowed to function in containment zones, malls and market complexes, a MHA statement said.
In an attempt to avoid crowds at such shops, the MHA order emphasizes that not more than five people should be present at one time at any such shop during transactions.
