Coronavirus: 15 members of a family cured, discharged from hospital in Pune

Pune, April 21, 2020: In a major relief amid deaths due to Coronavirus COVID19, a total of 19 persons were cured and discharged from hospitals in Pune today. These include 15 members of the same family.

On the other hand, with 42 new patients were added today, taking Pune city’s total number of Coronavirus Positive cases over 700. Corona patients in Pune city are increasing day by day. In the last four days, the number has gone up by 60 to 70 daily. Yesterday, 80 new patients were found in Pune.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal said that 19 patients have been discharged today. They include 15 people of a family admitted to Symbiosis hospital and four from Naidu hospital. Yesterday, 18 patients were discharged from hospitals.

Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said that among those cured and discharged today are a 92-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl. Till a total of 78 people have been cured and discharged in Pune city.

The number of Coronavirus Positive patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad has increased to 64 out of which two have died while 18 have been cured and discharged till now. One patient is from Khadki who is undergoing treatment at YCM Hospital in Pimpri.

According to Pune Divisional Commissioner, the number of corona infected patients in the division which includes Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur districts, has risen to 890 out of which 115 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals. There are 717 active patients, while 58 have died. 20 patients are still critical.

Out of these 890 patients, 813 COVID19 patients are from Pune district where 53 patients have died. In Satara district, out of 16 infected patients, 2 patients have died. Solapur district has 25 affected patients and 2 have died. Sangli district has 27 affected patients and 1 patient has died. There are 9 affected patients in Kolhapur district. Till now 10,034 samples of people from these districts have been tested for Coronavirus.

Till date, 44 lakh 5 thousand 369 houses in the division have been surveyed and 1 crore 67 lakh 77 thousand 649 persons have been screened for symptoms of COVID19. Of these, 828 individuals have been referred for further medical investigation.
