Coronavirus: All permit rooms, beer bars closed in Pune district from today

Pune, March 18, 2020: With rise in number of Coronavirus positive patients to 18 in Pune, the district administration has ordered closure of all permit rooms, beer bars (except those inside star hotels) in the district from March 18 (today) till March 31.

Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram, who is also the chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, issued an order in this regard.

In order to prevent spread of coronavirus, the government has closed theatres, swimming pools, gyms, parks, auditoriums. Also schools, colleges, coaching centres and malls (except shops selling essential commodities) have been closed.

The government has invoked the Epidemic Diseases Act to close these places and anybody found violating this law, can be jailed for the offence under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The administration has also appealed to people postpone marriage dates. And if not possible they should invite a fewer number of guests.
