Coronavirus Lockdown: First train departs from Pune station

Pune, June 1, 2020: A special train departed from platform number 1 of Pune station on tonight for its destination Danapur near Patna in Bihar. In this train, 1454 passengers are travelling with confirmed reservation. Thermal screening of cheerful passengers wearing masks was done and social distancing was followed.

Only those passengers who had confirmed seats were allowed on the train. As per the rules, passengers with waiting list were not allowed to travel. The passengers who were going were very happy and thanked the Indian Railways for the resumption of trains.

Passengers arriving for the journey from Pune station are being given entry from the main gate of the station towards platform number 1 and the passengers of trains coming from outside have to go out from the gate on the side of Tadiwala Road. Some passenger trains also passed through Pune station, which have been given commercial stops here. In these trains, passengers travelled from Pune to other states.

Due to lockdown, all train services have been cancelled and only Shramik Special trains for stranded people were being run. Today the first train departed in which people had booked tickets on their own.
