Coronavirus Pune: Death of COVID patient today, Khadki Bazaar police line evacuated

Pune, April 29, 2020: The number of Coronavirus patients has reached 17 in Khadki Cantonment. One patient succumbed to the deadly virus today in the police line which has been evacuated. Till now two COVID19 have died while one patient has been cured. Most of the patients are from Khadki Bazaar area.

 

Ravindra Shisve, Joint Commissioner of Pune City Police, said that in last couple of days 8 police personnel tested positive for COVID19. Their close contacts have been quarantined. Other personnel who were deployed at sensitive places were tested and fortunately, their reports came negative.

 

As per the latest information available with the Pune district health officer (DHO) till 9 pm yesterday, there has been an increase of 143 COVID19 patients in 24 hours. The total tally of Coronavirus Positive patients has reached 1491 which includes 83 deaths and 203 who have been cured and discharged from hospitals till now. The first case in Maharashtra was detected in Pune on March 9.

According to the DHO report, out of 1491 total patients, 1320 were from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 103 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 43 from Pune rural and 25 from the Cantonment board areas. However, later PMC data till late night stated that the total number of patients has reached 1339, while in PCMC the number has reached 107.

According to PMC officials, there were 122 new patients which the highest for a single day. Two patients died while 27 patients were discharged after being cured. There are still 1057 active patients including 73 in critical conditions. Till now 79 patients have died in Pune city while 203 have been cured and discharged from different hospitals. Every day about 650 people are being tested in PMC areas.

In Pimpri Chinchwad, the number of COVID19 patients has reached 115 including 8 new patients detected today morning. Till now 31 patients have cured and discharged while 4 have died. Some parts of Kalewadi and Pimprigaon have been sealed after new patients were found there.

There were 729 new Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra yesterday taking the state tally to 9318. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, till today morning the total number of COVID19 positive cases in India reached to 31332 including 1007 deaths, 7695 cured/discharged and 1 migrated. 73 deaths and 1897 new cases in the last 24 hours due to Coronavirus is the sharpest ever increase in death cases in India.
