Coronavirus Pune: Know Containment Zones in PCMC areas, Apply for Travel Pass Online
Pimpri, May 3, 2020: The Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate has now been given the powers within the limits of the commissionerate (which includes PCMC areas as well some parts of Pune rural) to allow pilgrims, workers, individuals, students and other citizens stranded during the lockdown to go to their desired destination. The state government has given the power to allow inter-state or inter-district travel.
However, special care is being taken for Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), because they have the highest numbers of Coronavirus COVID19 patients. In PCMC areas, the number of patients has reached 115 including 52 who have been cured and five who have died.
Unless the concerned Municipal Commissioner decides the boundaries of the corona-affected ward in his area, people will not be able to travel to or from any part of Maharashtra through this area. However, permission will be given to go to other states outside Maharashtra through this authority.
DCP Sudhir Hiremath of Pimpri-Chinchwad police said people residing in containment zones will not be given travel permission. Also, the applicant has to get a certificate from a registered medical practitioner (doctor) stating that he/she doesn’t have influenza like symptom. For travel to other districts in Maharashtra or any other state, people can apply online https://covid19.mhpolice.in If more than 4 people are travelling together, then a group leader has to submit details of all those travelling as per the given format (link given below), to the local police station for processing the application.
Police said that all details will be verified and sent to Pune District Collector office, which will coordinate with the District Collector office of the place where people want to travel. After getting approval from there, travel permission will be given by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police.
According to Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), as of May 2, the containment zones include areas in Kharalwadi, Pimple Gurav, Gurudutt Colony in Bhosari, Nehrunagar bus depot, Shastri Chowk in Bhosari, Yamunagar hospital area, Rupeenagar, PMT chowk in Bhosari, Adinathnagar Maidan in Bhosari, Wakad police station, Landge Chawl locality in Bhosari, Gandharvnagari in Moshi, Sai Hospital area and Vijaynagar in Dighi, Ganeshnagar in Dapodi, Pimprigaon, 16 number stop in Wakad, Gurunanak auto garage area in Kasarwadi, Sai Super Market in Sambhajinagar and Pimple Nilakh.
