Coronavirus: Pune police conducts Weekly Tuesday Review Meeting through Videoconferencing

Pune, March 17, 2020: Given Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak and leading by example regarding social distancing, the Weekly Tuesday Review Meeting -74 by Pune Police Commissioner was conducted through Google Hangout today instead of at the Cops Excellence hall at Police Commissioner’s office in Camp.

In the review meeting, 88 officers of the rank Senior Inspectors, divisional ACsP, zonal DCsP, regional Add.CP, participated through videoconference from their respective police station / offices, while officers of CP office (CP, Jt CP, AdCP crime, DCP crime, hq, SB etc.) participated at mini-conference hall.

Tuesday Review Meeting (TRM) was started by CP Pune in August 2018, after he joined as CP Pune re-emphasizes the core ideology of continuous Review, Reflect, and Refocus thus leading to systematic improvements in various priority areas.

In the meeting, CP Pune, Dr. K.Venkatesham discussed in detail about the measures to be taken because of Covid-19 specifically the various stages of Covid-19, precautions to be taken by police and citizens. He took police station wise review of the prevailing situation, implementation of guidelines announced by district administration, various measures being taken by police stations.

He also checked whether all police staff have received sanitizers, and masks. Joint CP, Dr. Ravindra Shisve summarized the discussion and asked zonal DCsP to ensure communication and implementation of measures to the last rung of the force. Additional CP Crime Ashok Morale emphasized that police stations to keep a watch on black marketing of essential commodities, and take proactive action against such elements.

DCP (Crime Branch) Bachchan Singh organized this innovative concept with the assistance of PSI Bhalerao of Computer Cell, Amit Bhosle, Nitim Jain, and Wireless staff. In the end, CP Pune said future meetings may also be done through videoconference, and also urged zonal DCsP to take meetings using technology.
