Coronavirus: Singer Kanika Kapoor booked by Lucknow Police for hiding information, infecting others

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, March 20, 2020: An FIR was registered against the Coronavirus-positive Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor in Lucknow on Friday late night.

The CMO has registered cases against Kanika in Hazratganj, Sarojninagar and Gomtinagar police stations in three sections of the IPC, including hiding the information of coronavirus. Kanika has been accused of intentionally spreading the infection.

A case has been registered against Kanika Kapoor under sections 188 (disobedience of order duly promulgated by a public servant), 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Epidemic Diseases Act is currently applicable in UP. She faces imprisonment of up to two years.

A large population in Lucknow is in crisis due to gross negligence of Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor. After returning from abroad, she continued to do uncontested parties bypassing the government’s advisory. In her celebration, there was a gathering of big leaders from officers to former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
The state government has instructed the people involved in the three programs of the Corona virus-infected singer Kanika Kapoor to keep them in isolation. The health check-up of all these persons will be done.

The official spokesman of the government said that these instructions have been given to Principal Secretary Medical and Health, Divisional Commissioner Lucknow, Director Medical and Health, Police Commissioner Lucknow and Kanpur District Collector and Senior Superintendent of Police.

On Friday morning, after the investigation of Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), there was a commotion from Lucknow to Delhi when the virus was confirmed. Many ministers, officers in contact, got themselves quarantined at home. The situation has been declared as lockdown till 31 March.
Kanika Kapoor had gone to London. She returned to Lucknow on 11th March. Despite coming from abroad, she ignored the government advisory.

Kanika kept parties for 10 days

She continued to have parties in the city for about 10 days instead of following the home quarantine. High-profile people including MPs, MLAs, ministers, officers from many states attended her parties. Not only this, but she also visited other cities including Lucknow and Kanpur. In such a situation, there is a possibility of infection in a large population.

The Corona Covid-19 virus was confirmed in Kanika on Friday (March 20) at KGMU. As soon as the investigation was confirmed in the morning, people were squabbling from Lucknow to Delhi. Kanika Kapoor was admitted to a hospital in Lucknow and her parents are quarantined at home.

Along with this, a party was also organized at Lokayukta Sanjay Mishra, which was attended by Kanika.

She had a fever for the last four days
Kanika had a fever and cold for the last four days. On Wednesday, she reported to other officials, including the CMO, of deteriorating health over the phone. The health team arrived at her flat in Dandaiya on Thursday evening. Here her sample was collected and sent to KGMU for investigation. Dr Sudhir Singh, the spokesperson of the institute, confirmed her Coronavirus positive at 9 am on Friday.

Hours of struggle for isolation ward
Officers continued to struggle for hours after the virus was confirmed in Kanika at nine o’clock. The matter caught up in the media. After this, the ambulance reached her flat around noon. From here she was sent by ambulance to PGI where she was admitted to the Corona isolation ward at 2 pm.

Father says Kanika went to three partiesAccording to Kanika Kapoor’s father, Kanika had gone to three parties after coming from London. During this time she met about 400 people. Kanika joined the party at former MP Akbar Ahmed Dumpy’s house, which was attended by many top BJP leaders, ministers and officials. She also attended a party organized at the home of a big businessman. She attended a party at Hotel Taj organized by a cabinet minister and several IAS officers. In both parties, 500-700 people joined, besides the catering staff and hotel staff. Kanika took selfie and handshake with many people.

Singer Karnika posted about her health & journey on Instagram “Hello everyone For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-1 9. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10 days ago when I came back home, the symptoms have developed only 4 days ago. At this stage, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like normal flu and a mild fever, however, we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around the US. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives. Wishing everyone good health. Jai Hind! ”

UP Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh also attended one of the parties that Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor went to. After this news, there was a stir in the government. In this regard, Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh said that he had attended a party in Lucknow, where Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor was present. He had also met her. His family was also present with him. In such a situation, he has now decided to keep himself and his entire family in isolation.

Barricading, outrage across the area
When the virus was confirmed, the colony at Dandaiya was stirred up. People came out of the tower. Officers requested to be protected from infection. Also expressed outrage over the negligence of the singer. In such a situation, the officers barricaded the entire area and blocked it. The screening will take place in a one km radius around Singer Kanika’s residence. The door to door survey will be done. Everyone will take a history of cold and fever. Hundreds of people contacted, sampling 45
The CMO team has started tracing people in fear of spreading the infection. In the family, samples of three people including her father were collected. Samples of a total of 45 people were taken by evening. Sample collection work is in progress.
