Pune 7th August 2023 : The residents of a remote village Padarwadi in the Khed tehsil of Pune are living in fear for the last one week after a 300 meter long crack surfaced around 100 meter away from their houses. The villagers fear an Irshalwadi like incident as they claim it could be the first sign of a landslide similar to the one reported at Irshalwadi village of Raigad district last month. Around 70 people reside in this remote village and an individual has to walk for around two hours in the forest to reach there.

A preliminary inspection was conducted by the the district administration to assess the situation and a report has been submitted to the authorities for further action. According to a report published by Times Of India by quoting an official from Khed Administration, the inspection was conducted on Friday and the officials are exploring options to relocate the villagers. The crack was witnessed by the villagers after continuous heavy rainfall was reported in the area. The villagers are panicked since it is located just around 100 meter away from their residence.

Most of the villagers are dairy farmers and since the village is located on the border of Pune and Raigad district they often travel between the two districts.
