Create awareness on pollution – Bodhankar

PUNE- The students should become the messengers for creating awareness about growing pollution. They should think over pollution on a global level but work at the local level to bring about change to curb this menace. Plastic usage has created irrevocable damage to our mother Earth. Huge dumping of plastic in water bodies has not only affected water animals but to the humans as well, said environmentalist & Founder of ‘Sagarmitra’ Vinod Bodhankar. He was speaking at the Foundation Day ceremony of GGIS School.

The school awarded ‘Kaladeep’ scholarship to students Anjali Nayar, Utkarsha Rastogi at the hands of Arun Gupta. On the occasion an Inter-School classical group singing competition Swargeet was held. SNBP school, Rahataniwon the 1st prize followed by Poddar International School, Ambegaon & Global Indian International School, Chinchwadwho stood 1st & 2nd runner up respectively. Total 15 schools had participated in the competition from various parts of the city.

The judges who graced the occasion were Deepak Bhanuse (famous flute player), Ustad Rayees Khan (popular Sitarist) and Pt. Sudhakar Chauhan (acknowledged vocalist of Kirana Gharana)

Present on the occasion were Trustee Jaiprakash Goel, Geeta Goel, Sonu Gupta, Principal Bharti Bhagwani and Vice Principal Seetha Devi.
