CREDAI Pune Metro Names Its Auditorium After Founder President- Late Ramkumar Rathi

Pune, December 14: In a bid to pay tribute to its late Founder President, CREDAI Pune Metro, one of the most vibrant chapters of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India has named its Auditorium after Late Ramkumar Rathi during a condolence meeting held at CREDAI Pune Metro office yesterday. Rathi, who was a veteran in sectors like real estate and capital markets, passed away last month at the age of 81. This auditorium which is named after him is located at Nucleus Mall in Camp.

Ramkumar Rathi was instrumental in setting up the Promoters and Builders Association of Pune (PBAP) in 1982, a forum for real estate developers that later took shape as CREDAI, an apex body of real estate developers across the country headquartered in Delhi. Today, CREDAI is the largest forum of Real Estate Developers in the country with 21 state-level organizations, 230 city chapters, and 13300 developers as its members across the country.

While offering his condolences Ranjit Naiknavare, President, of CREDAI Pune Metro said, “He will be remembered as the Builder of Institutions. A passionate real estate developer, Ramkumar Rathi was a firm believer in making real estate an organized sector. He not only made a tremendous effort in laying the foundation for CREDAI but also in creating the ecosystem for the construction industry by starting a government-approved laboratory for testing the construction material and exhibitions like Constro for knowledge exchange about the latest developments in the industry.”

Shantilal Kataria, Former National Vice-President of the CREDAI, J P Shroff, Head of the Kushal Initiative of CREDAI, Pramod Khairnar, President, CREDAI Maharashtra and Suhas Merchant, former President of CREDAI Pune Metro shared their memories about Ramkumar Rathi during this condolence meet. Representatives from other institutions with which Rathi was closely associated like Pune Construction Engineering Research & Research Foundation, Maheshwari Vidya Pracharak Mandal, Tara Mobile Creches, and various real estate and architectural firms also spoke about Ramkumar Rathi’s contribution in building organizations like BAI, AESA, IIA, ISSE, MBVA and other allied organizations.

Everyone echoed the sentiment of his vision, his skill to deal with the bureaucracy, willingness to help and take on new responsibilities for creating social organizations and institutions for the construction industry. Prominent among them were Freny Tarapore, Kumar Gera, Keshav Desai, Rameshwar Sarda, and Jitubhai Thakker from Nasik, Lalit Kumar Jain, Atul Lahoti and Ashok Beharay.

Rahul Rathi, son of Ramkumar Rathi expressed his gratitude to CREDAI Pune Metro on behalf of his family for acknowledging his father’s contribution to the real estate sector. Rajesh Chaudhari, Vice President of CREDAI Pune Metro, and Dr. D. K. Abhyankar, Director-General of CREDAI Pune Metro contributed to organizing this condolence meeting.
