Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) announces 17 member Indian Squad for the upcoming India –England Bilateral Cricket series for Blind

Indian blind cricket players are intensely practicing for the upcoming Bilateral and Triangular Cricket Series for the Blind 2018 to be played among India, England and Sri Lanka scheduled from 2nd to 27th October 2018. Samarthanam and Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) is organizing the Blind Cricket Series and today, announced the list of players who would be representing India in the three T20   match, India England first bilateral series happening in India.

Matches will be held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th Oct 2018, at SSE Sports ground, Tanisandra near Hajbhavan, Bangalore this series is majorly sponsored by Indus Ind Bank and will be played in Bangalore, Sri Lanka will join to play the Triangular series in Bangalore and Goa, and later half of the month India and Sri Lanka will play a bilateral series in other parts of the country, list for triangular and India and Sri Lanka Bilateral will be announced later respectively.

Mahantesh GK, President of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), World Blind Cricket and Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam, stated, “Blind cricketers are blessed with immense potential and Bilateral and Triangular Series is a perfect stage to display their determination. The India Blind Cricket team have been training intensely for the series and I wish them the very best. We, at Samarthanam and CABI, are thrilled and energized for the upcoming series and look forward to witnessing the extraordinary game of blind cricket and also extend warm welcome to India and Srilanka to be a part of the upcoming series.”

CABI has selected many new blind cricket players keeping in mind the imminent blind cricket tournaments including the 3rd T-20 World Cup in 2020 and 6th ODI World Cup in 2022. The same concept has been implemented in the recent India-Sri Lanka Bilateral Series played at Colombo in 2018 and it proved to be successful in both identifying young talent and providing them an opportunity to play on international stage
