Cross-Border Drug Smuggling Foiled: Suspected Pakistani Drone Carrying Heroin Intercepted In Tarn Taran

India, 31st July 2023: A suspected Pakistani drone carrying three kilograms of heroin was discovered near the India-Pakistan border in Tarn Taran district. A joint team comprising Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully recovered the drone and the illicit drugs from a field close to Khemkaran village. The BSF troops initially noticed the buzzing sound of the unmanned aerial vehicle near Kalash village the previous night, leading to the operation to intercept it. It is believed that the drone had entered Indian territory from Pakistan. This successful recovery marks another instance of cooperation between the BSF and Punjab Police in countering illicit activities along the border.
