Cutting-Edge Training, Agniveer Preparedness in Focus During Lt Gen Brar’s Visit to MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre

Belagavi/Pune, 26th June 2025: Lieutenant General KS Brar, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, visited The MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre on 26 June 2025.
During the visit, the GOC inspected the operational readiness and training standards of the Regimental Centre. He was briefed on the substantial strides made in enhancing the training and administrative infrastructure, particularly in the context of Agniveer training. The GOC observed training sessions firsthand and lauded the Centre’s unwavering commitment to excellence. The GOC emphasised the importance of integrating cutting-edge technology into training from the foundational stages to ensure that soldiers are future-ready and capable of adapting to the evolving battlefield dynamics.
Accompanied by Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, the Station Commander, the General Officer also visited various station units of the garrison to assess the overall functional synergy and readiness. During his visit to the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic, the General Officer interacted with veterans, acknowledging their invaluable service and reaffirming the Army’s continued commitment to their welfare. He also visited Army Public School, The MARATHA LIRC, Belagavi, where he felicitated students who had excelled in sports at various levels, appreciating their achievements and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
As part of his visit, the GOC also inaugurated the newly established Outpatient Department (OPD) section at Military Hospital Belagavi, marking a significant step towards enhancing medical facilities for serving personnel, veterans, and their families.
