Cyclone Amphan : The states issued helpline numbers to help the people

New Delhi, 20 May 2020 : West Bengal, Odisha and other states, including cyclone emphysema of heavy rains in the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone will hit the Digha-Hatia coast of Bengal by this evening. The government of West Bengal and Odisha has left no stone unturned to help the people of the coastal areas before this. While more than three lakh people have been evacuated from West Bengal, more than one lakh people have been evacuated to safer places in cyclone-affected areas in Odisha. Apart from this, the states have issued helpline numbers to deal with any emergency.

Helpline number released in Kolkata

Kolkata Police tweeted on Tuesday and informed that special control room will be started from 8 am today to deal with Cyclone Amphon. For any emergency please contact us on the given numbers- 033-2214-3024, 033-2214-1310, 033-2214-3230, WhatsApp No. 9432624365.

Helpline number released in Odisha

Bhadrak Police in Odisha, please call us on tweet 100 or tweet us for help in any emergency during the cyclone. People residing outside Bhadrak can call 06784 250027 if you want to contact us. Apart from this, Jajpur Police has asked to contact on dial 100 or 06726240445. Mayurbhanj Police has issued a call to dial 100 or 06792-252325 to contact in any emergency.

Howrah Municipal Corporation released helpline number

Howrah Municipal Corporation has also issued a 24×7 helpline number for this. People can contact on 033-2637-1735 if needed. Besides this the Howrah Municipal Corporation has established a control room for 24 hours. State and national disaster management teams are deployed in the area.

Helpline number also released in Meghalaya

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the state’s preparedness in the wake of Cyclone Amphon. Block development offices across the state have been alerted to ensure timely help in case of any emergency. Apart from this, the state has also issued helplines – 0364-2502094 and 0364-2225289.
