Pune, 6th May 2022: The inauguration of a Chowk named after the great saint Dada J.P. Vaswani was held in Pune today. This is the first chowk in Pune to be named after him. The Chowk is located at the crossing at Mangaldas Road, opposite Taj Blue Diamond, near St. Mira’s College.

Incidentally, Dada J.P. Vaswani Chowk is at the first crossing, following the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge below.

The chowk was inaugurated at the hands of Didi Krishna Kumari, Executive Head, Sadhu Vaswani Mission and Mrs. Mangala Mantri, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Corporator. The ceremony included havan (holy fire), kirtan and prayers. A marble plaque was unveiled with an image of Revered Dada J.P. Vaswani with the message – “There is no power greater than love.” The plaque will be a permanent fixture at the chowk.

Didi Krishna expressed gratitude to all the authorities for making the chowk a reality. She said, “It was Shankaracharya, who said on his visit to Pune that the city is under the protection of Great Ones like Sadhu Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani. Indeed, it is true. Their presence is protecting this city.” She added, “Dada came to awaken us; he never wanted anything for himself. He always said: If you want to be happy, make others happy. If each one takes this one message with themselves, the world will be a new place to be. Together, let us make Pune, our India a place where peace and happiness abounds.”

Speaking at the inauguration Mrs. Mantri said, “The Mission has given me a reason for happiness. I am grateful that God has made me an instrument. Today, people from several walks of life have joined this ceremony. I hope that they take the Mission’s practice of truth, love and compassion with them.”

Shobha Nihalani, an author visiting from Hong Kong commented, “We find people rushing about. I believe seeing Dada, in the midst of this rush, will bring in a sense of calm; it will be a moment for them to pause, center themselves, and think of God.”

“Dada Vaswani was a Yug-Purush and to have a chowk named after him and people passing by it is a blessing and will impact lives,” said an attendee from PMC.

Gracing the ceremony were dignitaries including Mr. Sanjay Gawade, Deputy Commissioner, Dnyaneshwar Tupe, Ward Officer, Dr. Galande, Medical Officer, Prakash Rameshwar Mantri, Ex-Deputy Mayor, PMC, Pune, and Dhairyashil Vandekar.
