Delayed Results Loom: Pune University Affiliated Colleges Face Deadline Pressure

Pune, 9th August 2023: More than a hundred aided colleges affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) are racing against the clock to meet the August 10 deadline for submitting internal, external, and practical test marks for over 8,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The results of these students, whose examinations concluded by June 30 this year, remain in limbo until the marks are successfully uploaded. The delay has sparked frustration among students and threatens to impact their educational pursuits.

While other colleges under the university’s purview have already unveiled the results for their students, these hundred institutions face scrutiny for failing to comply with the timely mark submission process. The SPPU’s Examination Department had stipulated that results for both professional and non-professional courses must be declared within 45 days of exam completion. However, the aforementioned colleges have yet to upload the required marks on the designated system, despite being granted six extensions previously.

In response to the recurring delays, the SPPU’s Examination Mistake Committee has taken a firm stance, warning that fines and other administrative actions will be imposed on colleges that do not adhere to the August 10 deadline.

Addressing the issue, Mahesh Kakade, the Director of SPPU’s Board of Examination and Evaluation, clarified the gravity of the situation. “Over a hundred colleges have failed to upload students’ internal, external, and practical marks into the computerized system. Our management council had resolved that all stream results would be declared by July 31. Unfortunately, these colleges failed to meet the mark submission deadline between June 30 and July 14. The inability to provide these crucial marks has stalled result declarations. August 10 is now the final ultimatum. Any college that disregards this deadline will face penalties from the SPPU’s Examination Mistake Committee, along with additional administrative measures.”

As the August 10 deadline looms, students and parents eagerly anticipate the resolution of this predicament, hoping that the affected colleges swiftly rectify their mark submission shortcomings to secure their academic paths.
