Delivery Boy From Pune Cheated By a Group Of Five; Replaced Smartphone Worth 43,019 With Soap Cakes

Camp, 29th June 2022: In a shocking incident, five people, including a girl, allegedly cheated an e-commerce website’s delivery agent by replacing soap cakes with a smartphone worth rupees 43,019.

Lashkar police station has initiated a search for catching them. The incident happened on Saturday at around 1:30 PM.

On Sunday morning, Mahedi Khurshid Alure, a 32-year-old agent from Gultekdi, filed a complaint.

API Shitaikumar Gaikwad said, “A case of cheating has been filed against the five boys and one female. We have CCTV footage of the location.”

According to Alure, one of them had ordered a smartphone and selected cash-on-delivery (COD).

He said, “The individual registered a false address but with the correct contact information. I was asked to go to a location on East Street close to the Victory Theatre. One of the boys insisted that he had a credit card, but I did not have a PoS machine with me, so he started arguing with me about it.”

He claimed that the female then approached him with a PoS machine. The girl allegedly advanced at that point and took the package out of my hand. They distracted me and then the girl went back and replaced a different package with the original one, they distracted my attention.

“After discovering the soap cakes, I tried to pursue them, but they escaped,” he further added.
