Department of Women and Child signs MOU with Zaffiro Learning HeyDidi to train 10000 plus girls for instant parcel delivery service
Mumbai, September 27th 2016: Keeping the Hon Prime Ministers Vision SKILLING FOR EMPLOYABILITY in mind, the very pro active DWCD-GOM has signed a MOU with Zaffiro Learning-Heydidi, which is the 1st ever logistics platform to do parcel deliveries on 2 wheelers which will be by women.
DWCD is the nodal department of the Government which governs the implementation of schemes for welfare of women and children with specific focus on their growth, development and protection. The MOU was signed by Mr. Sanjay Kumar -Additional Chief Secretary Women and Child Development Department and Mrs Revathi Roy- CEO Zaffiro Learning – Heydidi.
Zaffiro Learning-Heydidi is a social enterprise started by social entrepreneur Revathi Roy, also the pioneer of the 1st ever women’s taxi service started in 2007, FORSCHE and recently the winner of NITIAayog “women transforming India” 2016 which was given for her indomitable spirit and never ending efforts of empowering women from BPL families.
Zaffiro-Heydidi aims to train at least 10000 women in a years time and for that this MOU will help mobilize the women from different parts of Maharashtra and enable their training and also facilitate a loan for their 2 wheelers under the MUDRA scheme which will enhance their financial condition and help earn a decent income.
Already Heydidi is operating as instant parcel delivery platform for multiole food chains like SUBWAY, PIZZA HUT, EGK FOODS, KFC, ZIP TOWN, AMAZON and hope to add many more at the earliest.
Once the training of 45 days is completed, the girls will be placed in different food chains and other e-commerce platforms as well. Zaffiro Learning is a VTP empanelled with MSSDS in the category of Driver, Courier and Logistics.
Zaffiro Learning, has introduced a path breaking women’s empowerment initiative to train girls to ride scooters and provide instant parcel service on the HeyDidi Platform. HeyDidi is a platform which is focused on providing any sort of delivery starting from food, medical reports to even groceries, by downloading an app on the mobile phone. It was launched by HeyTaxi on International Women’s Day as HeyTaxi’s women’s empowerment initiative, becoming the first all female delivery service.
Zaffiro provides these women with the skills and training to be licensed drivers, helps to procure the vehicle, and places them on the job, hence making them self-reliant and independent. It aims to train atleast 50000 women in the next 2 years across as many States as possible.
HeyDidi’s aim is to train and employ 10000 girls to ride scooters and provide instant parcel service on the HeyDidi platform – across 20 cities in 3 years.
More recently, they have already tied-up Amazon (Bangalore) Pizza Hut, Subway, EGK , and many more as a part of their women employability programme.
