Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Reviewed Covid Situation In Pune

Pune, July 24, 2021: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today directed to keep the treatment system equipped and also to continue the tests and surveys, considering the possible third wave of Covid. He also clarified today that a decision will be taken at the ministry level to give some leeway in the restrictions in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad metropolis.

A review meeting on Covid situation and measures in the district were held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the hall of Pune Vidhan Bhavan. Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Nilmatai Gorhe, ZP. President Nirmalatai Pansare, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, MLA Adv. Ashok Pawar, MLA Sharad Ranpise, MLA Rahul Kul, MLA Sunil Tingre, MLA Chetan Tupe, MLA Siddharth Shirole, as well as Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Yashada Director General S Chokalingam, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, District Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Pune Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade, Pimpri Chinchwad Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, ZP. Chief Executive Officer AYUSH Prasad, Retired Director-General of Health Dr. Subhash Salunkhe, Dr Dilip Kadam, etc. along with senior officers of various departments were present.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, considering the possible third wave of Covid, the health system in rural areas including Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad metropolis should be equipped. He also directed that the treatment facilities including ventilators, oxygen systems and necessary trained manpower should be kept under constant scrutiny, as well as the speedy survey and sampling of the campaign being carried out in rural areas.

Stating that the pace of vaccination in Pune district is satisfactory, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “It is very satisfying as Pune district has crossed the milestone of 55 lakh in covid vaccination. The state government has been following up with the central government for the availability of vaccines and there has been a continuous effort to increase the number of vaccines.”

Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Nilmatai Gorh said that the experience of Covid-free villages will be a guide for other villages.

Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, MLA Adv. Ashok Pawar, MLA Sharad Ranpise, MLA Rahul Kul, MLA Sunil Tingre, MLA Chetan Tupe, MLA Siddharth Shirole, Dr Subhash Salunkhe also made some suggestions.

Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao gave a presentation on the Covid patient rate in the district this week as compared to the previous week, the measures being implemented by the administration in the district, sample testing of citizens, infected patients, hospital management, vaccination status, mucomycosis patient rate, mortality rate, oxygen plant status.

Additional Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation Ravindra Binwade and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil informed about the measures being taken by the Corporation.

Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh and ZP Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad informed about the Covid patient condition and remedies in rural areas. The meeting was attended by the chief officers of various agencies.
