Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni elected as the Vice President of World Association of Urologists

Pune 25th October 2017: Sanjay Kulkarni, Renowned Urologist at Pune has been elected as the Vice President of the Society International De Urology. It is a great matter of pride as he is the second Indian to be elected for this honor.

Before Dr. Kulkarni, Dr. Mahesh Desai, from Nadiad was elected in this organization. The position of Vice President is for four years, by 2020 Dr. Kulkarni will attain the position of being a President.

Society International De Urology is a world level organization of Urologists. The organization is established in 1907 in Paris, the headquarter is in Montreal, Canada. More than 7000 Urologists are members of this organization from 100 different countries across the world.

Dr. Kulkarni has recently received Dr. B. C. Roy National Award at the hands of President, which is considered as one of the highest achievement in Medical Stream. He has a procedure named after him, which is known as ‘Kulkarni’s Technique for Urethral Reconstruction’ world over.

The Doctor has completed his MBBS from Pune’s B. J. Medical College in 1976 and after that has been trained under the guidance of famous surgeon P. K. Bharucha. In England he did his training for five years in Urology and then came back to India to continue his practice. Dr. Jyotsna Kulkarni, wife of Dr. Kulkarni is a Laparoscopic Surgeon.
