Dramatic Police Chase in Nashik Leads to Seizure of 28 Kg of Ganja

Nashik, 9th January 2025: In a high-stakes operation that unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, Nashik City Police conducted a dramatic chase to capture drug traffickers, seizing 28 kilograms of ganja from a red MH 02 registered vehicle. The pursuit, which lasted over an hour, showcased the swift coordination and strategic planning of the police force.
The incident began around 2 a.m. when the suspect’s car attempted to breach a checkpoint at Adgaon during a routine stop-and-search operation. Acting on suspicion of illegal contraband, the police control room was alerted within seconds, mobilizing eight control room (CR) mobile vans across the city.
The dramatic chase covered key locations, including Adgaon, Dwarka U-turn, Amardham U-turn, KK Wagh College, and Chakradhar Swami Mandir. Despite the suspect’s attempts to evade capture by avoiding main roads, the police successfully intercepted the vehicle near Chakradhar Swami Mandir. A search of the vehicle’s trunk revealed 28 kilograms of ganja.
Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik commended the officers for their diligence and quick response. “Our teams are vigilant 24/7 to keep our city as safe city. Whether it’s illegal weapons, narcotics, explosives, or any other crime, our control room acts within seconds of receiving the alert. Special praise goes to Bhaurao Gangurde and Balkrushna Pawar for their exceptional alertness during the operation,” the commissioner stated.
