DRDO ROBOTICS & UNMANNED SYSTEM EXPOSITION (DRUSE) FINALE

The area of Robotics and Unmanned Systems is going to be the force multiplier for the future warfare. DRDO has been working in the field of Robotics. Army, Navy, Air force and paramilitary forces are the main users of these unmanned systems for operation in hostile environment. DRDO has developed a vast knowledge base in the field of Robotics & Unmanned Systems.

DRDO Robotics and Unmanned Systems Exposition (DRUSE) is designed to serve as an open platform to popularize and synergize the national talent in the area of robotics amongst student community for development of Unmanned Systems for defence applications. The aim of this event is to provide nationwide platform for all participants to show case their talent & encourage innovative ideas.

Fourteen different themes have been proposed for this event. The themes are related to defence applications with an emphasis on present and future needs. Each theme is expected to have diverse strength of participations. The DRUSE was launched at the hands of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri on 14 Oct 2017 and the National level finale was evaluated on 24 May 2018 by a high level committee, in which three proposals are selected out of 1088 proposals by three level screening process. The dignitaries such as Shri PK Mehta, DG (ACE), Dr Vijay P. Bhatkar and Lt Gen Michael Mathews, VSM (Bar), Commandant, CME, Pune graced the occasion.

The DRUSE finale was conducted at DIAT, Pune, by R&DE(E), a premier Lab under Armament & Combat Engineering cluster of DRDO under the able guidance of Shri VV Parlikar, OS & Director.

Conducting DRUSE has provided us an opportunity to learn and assess the talent available nationwide amongst student community, which could be harnesses for filling technology gaps and indigenous development of Robotic & Unmanned systems for defence application.
