Dwaraka junction: Mumbai-Dhule side opened; remaining road stretch to be completed by October 15

Nashik, 2nd September 2026: The Mumbai-Dhule side of Dwaraka junction has been opened for traffic as committed during the previous review, while the remaining portion of the road over the underpass will be completed after the pending slab work on a short section is finished by October 15. The work was reviewed during a site visit on August 31 in presence of MLA Devyani Farande, Nashik Police Commissioner Sandip Karnik, NTKMA Commissioner Shekhar Singh, and NMC Commissioner Manisha Khatri who directed the concerned agencies to adhere to the new deadline.

Officials from MSIDC, NMC, MSRTC and other concerned departments were present during the inspection.

During the inspection, officials reviewed the progress at Dwaraka junction and noted that the Mumbai-Dhule section of the road had been opened as committed during the previous review. A short portion of the slab of the underpass, is still under construction. Once this pending slab work is completed, the road stretch can be extended further and opened for traffic.

MSIDC was directed to complete the remaining slab work by October 15 so that the additional portion of the road can be made operational without further delay. Officials stressed that while the infrastructure work is important for the long-term improvement of traffic movement at Dwaraka, the temporary inconvenience caused during construction must continue to be minimised.
In addition a decision was also taken to construct the service road going towards pune side at Dwarka Junction to full width of 13.5 m.

Traffic management arrangements at the junction were also reviewed. NTKMA has approved the deployment of additional traffic wardens for the Police Department to assist with traffic regulation around the ongoing work. All agencies engaged in the project were directed to coordinate closely with the concerned traffic police and ensure that the traffic wardens are effectively utilised.
