Educational centre at Doha (Qatar) in cooperation with SPPU

Mumbai, Mar 2, 2020: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed with Qatar Government to start an educational centre at Doha in cooperation with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The government is positive in this regard and directed the university to send proposal in this regard to the government at the earliest, said Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samantha today.

Samantha said that in cooperation with SPPU the Doha Professional Services Holding W. L. L. Doha, Qatar has inked an MoU with Qatar Government. The Qatar government has approved this proposal and the state government is also positive towards this initiative. He said that the SPPU should submit a Detail Program Report to the government. The state government will cooperate in this project. After this the SPPU should pursue this matter with the Centre and obtain their permission at the earliest to facilitate starting of this centre, Samant said.

Samant further said that it is necessary to spread Marathi language in foreign lands and for the Maharashtrian students the Doha Professional Services Holding W. L. L. Doha, Qatar is taking initiative to start Marathi language syllabus in a foreign country. This is a welcome step. In regard to this proposal all legal issues be cleared and a time bound program be prepared, Samantha suggested.

SYLLABUS

The syllabus includes diploma, degree, cultural programs, language cooperation program, student-teacher exchange, joint research projects, cultural programs, workshops etc.

On this occasion MLA Bhai Jagtap, Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Saurav Vijay, SPPU VCDr. Nitin Karmalkar, President of the organization Hasan Chougule and others were present.
