New Delhi, September 19, 2023: Twitter, rebranded as X, has undergone a significant number of updates since Elon Musk’s takeover.
In a live-streamed conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Elon Musk discussed the possibility of implementing subscription fees to combat the pervasive issue of bot accounts on the platform.

Musk suggested that requiring bots to pay a nominal fee could deter their multiplication, stating that if bots had to invest a few dollars to maintain their accounts, they might think twice about creating them. Users attempting to create bot accounts would be required to make monetary contributions, although Musk has hinted at the potential for reducing this fee in the future.

The concept of a pay-to-use model for X is not entirely recent. Reports from the previous year indicated that Musk had contemplated placing the entire platform behind a paywall, making access contingent upon subscription fees.

In addition to these alterations, Elon Musk’s X is poised to unveil another innovative feature for its users. The company is actively developing a tool that will enable users to condense their profiles by customizing their most popular posts. This feature is expected to empower users with greater control over their content, offering the ability to curate and refine their online presence. X has also committed to ongoing improvements to enhance this feature’s functionality.

Earlier, the cancellation of free blue ticks from users, followed by the introduction of a subscription model had ignited a backlash from various quarters, with many expressing concerns over the implications of such alterations.

As Twitter, now X, continues to evolve under the management of Elon Musk, the social media landscape stands witness to these sweeping changes, promising a more dynamic and controlled user experience while simultaneously navigating the complexities of subscription-based access and the fight against bot accounts.
