Enforcement Directorate Initiates Prosecution Complaint against Gurinder Singh and Punjab Irrigation Department Officials

Pune, 19th December 2023: On December 14, 2023, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC) against Gurinder Singh, several officers from the Irrigation Department of Punjab, and certain private individuals under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). This legal action was presented before the Hon’ble Special Court, PMLA, in Mohali. Subsequently, the Hon’ble Court acknowledged and took cognizance of the Prosecution Complaint on the same day.

The case pertains to alleged irregularities and financial discrepancies involving a total attachment of approximately Rs 112 Crore. The ED’s prosecution complaint specifically targets Gurinder Singh, alongside multiple officers affiliated with the Punjab Irrigation Department and certain private entities, marking a significant step in the ongoing investigation.

The allegations against the accused individuals and entities revolve around suspected money laundering activities and financial misconduct. The ED’s proactive stance in filing the Prosecution Complaint underscores the seriousness of the charges and the agency’s commitment to upholding financial integrity and combating illicit financial practices.
