Pune, 18th June 2024: After the fatal accident in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar on 19th May, where a Porsche was found operating without registration, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) initiated vigorous action starting on 22nd May. Since then, 59 drivers have been booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, and action has been taken against 11 vehicles that were on the road without proper registration. However, the pace of these actions slowed down at the start of June following the transfer of Sanjeev Bhor, who was in charge of the Pune RTO.

Sanjeev Bhor was promoted and reassigned to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Archana Gaikwad has been appointed as the new head of the Pune RTO, while Swapnil Bhosle has assumed the role of Deputy RTO of Pune.

Archana Gaikwad, the newly appointed head of the Pune RTO, stated, “The flying squad is actively enforcing the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988 across various parts of Pune. Notices have been issued to sellers regarding the cancellation of ‘trade certificates’ for delivering unregistered vehicles to customers. Further actions will be decided upon based on the outcomes of these measures, ensuring ongoing enforcement.”
