Experienced Trekker Dies After Heart Attack and Fall into 400 Feet Gorge At Lingana Fort
Pune, 28th March 2023: A group of tourists from Panvel, Mumbai were left in shock and dismay after one of their members, 62-year-old Ajay Kale, suffered a heart attack and fell into a 400 feet deep gorge while trekking to Lingana Fort in Raigad district. The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.
Kale, an experienced trekker, was part of a group that had traveled to the fort via Singapore village from Velhe taluka in Pune district.
According to local citizens, Kale suddenly collapsed after experiencing a heart attack and fell into the deep ravine. Despite the group’s best efforts to rescue him, he passed away on the spot.
The trekkers, who were all in a state of shock, were helped by locals who alerted the authorities.
The Raigad district police and rescue teams reached the spot immediately after receiving the news. They took Kale’s body for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation into the incident.
The Lingana Fort is a popular trekking destination among adventure enthusiasts due to its challenging terrain and picturesque views.
