Facebook extended work from home till July 2021, gives additional $1000 to all employees

Nation, August 7, 2020: Facebook instructed its 48,000 employees to work from home till July 2021. The giant social media service has asked it’s employees to buy all office essentials required to work at home and assured allowance amount of an additional $1,000 for the same. Facebook had previously allowed its employees to work from home till the end of 2020.
On Thursday, a Facebook spokesperson was quoted as saying that, ‘based on the decisions taken from internal discussions about these matters, and along with the guidance of health and government experts, we allow employees to continue working from home until July 2021. Also, we are giving an additional $ 1,000 to employees. With which the items of office needs can be purchased at home.’
Google too, announced last month that it would allow its 2 lakh employees to work from home by the middle of next year. In an email to employees, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that to give employees the ability to plan ahead, we plan to do our global voluntary work by June 30, 2021. Google previously scheduled a January 2021 time to return to its employees’ offices.
